Not Yu’s day. 343 comments

A four-run first inning did in Darvish and the Rangers, who dropped the game 7-3.

Some days Yu have it, some days Yu don’t.

Darvish wasn’t that sharp yesterday. He never found the groove. Never found his control.

And the Rangers streak of scoring ten runs per game ended at two.

“In the first inning, I had bad rhythm and was taking more time between pitches,” Darvish noted. “The next time, I’m going to go out there with better rhythm and tempo.”

He almost got out of the first inning, though, after striking out Cano and Cruz.

But Rangers-killer Kyle Seager, who hadn’t found his rhythm at the plate until yesterday, drilled a double in the first off Darvish to drive in the first run, then a passed ball and a home run put the finishing touches on a four-run first inning that seemed to finish off both Darvish and the Rangers.

Neither were able to recover.
