40-man: Anderson Tejeda.

A continuing look at the Rangers 40-man roster.

ANDERSON TEJEDA
Age: 22
Switch-Hitting Infielder

Because the Rangers made the fall from respectable to deplorable, Tejeda made the jump from A-Level to the major leagues in 2020.

It was much sooner than anyone would have wanted or expected. But with Elvis Andrus unable to hit, then being lost for the season with back strain, Tejeda was promoted to see what he could do.

He showed he has potential but at this stage of his career he is overmatched, mainly by his own lack of discipline.

Tejeda has a lot of upside and needs to develop. He should be a regular somewhere in the middle infield soon but probably not in 2021.
