Happy Thanksgiving from the entire staff at RR3. 56 comments

I am thankful I have an outlet where I can express my opinions about the Rangers every day, and that people actually come back every day.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful for all the posters on RR3 who make this blog a significant part of my day and my life. A friend asked me the other day how I deal with all the pettiness and infighting that goes along with running a blog, and I replied that I don’t have to, we don’t have that. He asked how that is possible, after all, since it’s the Internet. I told him, I don’t know, it just is.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful that the Rangers rediscovered what it takes to win and made going to the Ballpark fun again.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful I get to watch Adrian Beltre play one more season in Arlington in 2016. According to Tracy Ringolsby of MLB.com, during his five years with the Rangers, Beltre has led all major league third basemen in at bats (2,589), home runs (117), RBIs (409), batting average (.311) and slugging percentage (.508).

I am thankful I am a baseball fan and not a football fan.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful that Jon Daniels realized that Cole Hamels can win him games, and many of his prospects cannot.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful I get to watch players like Rougned Odor develop into all-stars and experience the joy of raw talent on display every night.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful the Rangers have a true leader in Jeff Banister at the helm—a guy who was far from perfect but is the perfect choice for this team’s leadership.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful Jerry Dipoto is now the GM at Seattle. That is one more team in the American League West that the Rangers won’t have to worry about for a while.

I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.

I am thankful for the crack of the bat on a spring day, the pop of ball into leather, the impossible synchronicity of a 5-4-3 double play, a bunt single, a perfectly executed relay play, the smell of fresh cut grass, stealing home, the quiet beauty of the Ballpark when it’s empty and even better the deafening beauty of the ballpark when it’s full.

And really, it can’t be said enough, I am thankful that Jerry Jones does not own the Rangers.
