There are so many free agent catchers to go around and probably not enough major league contracts. Catching is a thin position in major league baseball right now. Most of these guys are interchangeable. Which won’t bode well for them. It’s pretty much a buyer’s market in the catching position. The Rangers have already acquired their catcher for the next two years in Jeff Mathis. There are at least a dozen better catchers than him available. Oh well. You can’t lose 100 games if you aren’t willing to try.
