Not too long ago, Kluber was the top pitcher in the American League. The only thing that knocked him off that perch was a line drive that broke his arm.

In Kluber’s second start of the spring, he pitched like Corey Kluber. One earned run in four innings. That’s just two fewer innings than he’d be expected to pitch once the season starts. He allowed just two hits. Struck out two.

The only run off him scored on a sac fly.

One word comes to mind. Encouraging.

And that’s good news for the Rangers.
