So, what did we learn yesterday?

Both contenders for the fifth spot in the Rangers rotation had very solid outings. So as the final ten days of spring wrap up it’s still a close race.

Of course, all of this could be for naught if the Rangers somehow decide they want to give the nod to Jeremy Guthrie. If that happens, it will once and for all confirm that spring training means nothing.

But I don’t think that will happen.

The fifth spot should come down to one of the two pitchers who started yesterday.

My pick would be Griffin. He has more of a proven track record.
