Rougned Odor connects on his first home run in over three weeks. Here’s hoping that is the jumpstart he needs.

Before 1972, before Ted Williams came, before Bob Short ran short on money in DC, before Frank Howard and Toby Harrah and Dick Bosman, before Arlington Stadium, before the Sherman Act that forced there to be a franchise in the first place, before all that, there was no Texas Rangers baseball.

So, when you ask, can it get worse that this? Yes.

There could be no Texas Rangers.

This Texas Rangers team once lost 105 games. And recently lost 95.

So, yes, it could get worse than this.

There is no farm system right now. No help is on the way from the high minors. Not much anywhere else in the system. The young kids aren’t exactly tearing it up. Next year Darvish and Lucroy and Cashner and Gomez will be gone.

So, yes, it can get worse that this. And probably will.

At least Adrian Beltre is coming back soon. So at least it will be more fun to watch.
