The first round is over.

It’s time to settle in for some real baseball.

The Dodgers visit the Brewers today. Clayton Kershaw is on the mound. Playoff Clayton Kershaw hasn’t been Regular Season Clayton Kershaw, but I’d take him in a heartbeat. He is one of the top pitchers in the game.

The Brewers have the top player in the league in Christian Yelich. They have a lot of really good players nobody’s hear much of, mainly because they play in Milwaukee. They make beer in Milwaukees, not baseball headlines.

The Dodgers are unbelievably deep. You could take their entire bench and beat most major league teams’ starting nine. That’s the advantage of having unlimited payroll. Lose an All-Star shortstop? Let’s get another. Need a fourth outfielder? Let’s get one that’s better than most teams’ star outfielder.

Let’s hope it goes seven. Let’s hope a few of them go extra innings. After watching 162 games of mostly garbage ball locally, let’s see what baseball looks like for real
