Cause for hope.

Marcus Semien leads off the sixth with his 17th home run of the season in the Rangers 6-4 loss to Houston.

While this Rangers season is over except for the forty-seven more games they have left to play, there is cause for optimism.

If you look on the internet, a lot of Rangers fans are still holding onto the delusion that this team can make the playoffs. That’s comforting. It’s one-hundred percent insane, but comforting.

So, here are other positive ways to look at the next forty-seven games the Rangers have left in 2024.

You have the same chance of winning the $576 million Powerball that the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

You have the same chance of being beamed up into an alien space craft and shown the secrets to the universe that the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

You have the same chance of bowling a 300 with your left hand that the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year. And that’s if you’re right-handed. If you are left-handed, your odds increase slightly.

You have the same chance of getting a royal flush the next hand of poker you play as the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

You have the same chance of winning the US Open golf tournament as the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

The Dallas Cowboys have the same chance of winning the Super Bowl again in your lifetime as the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

You have the same chance of marrying your celebrity crush as the Rangers have of finishing over .500 this year.

So, take joy in knowing, the impossible can happen. The Rangers finishing over .500 won’t, though.
