Cleveland comes back from the dead.

David Fry is mobbed by his Guardian teammates after hitting the game-winning HR.

The Guardians have life. The Mets are on life support.

What a difference a day makes. Down two games to none, Cleveland had to win Game 3 to avoid the death knell of being down 3-0 in a best of seven.

When Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton hit back to back home runs in the top of the eighth inning to turn the score from a one-run Cleveland advantage to a one-run New York advantage, it looked like the Guardians were in serious trouble.

Then, when the Yankees scored yet another run off the Guardians All-Star closer Emmanual Clase to take a 5-3 lead in the ninth, things were dire. They got more so after a double play in the bottom of the ninth erased a leadoff baserunner.

Then the spirit of Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia defended upon Cleveland.

Cleveland was down to its final out. Down to its final strike against New York’s shut down closer, the Guardians Lane Thomas hit a 3-2 fastball for a double to give Cleveland hope. The next batter, Jhonkensy Noel (who, at 6-ft, 3-in and 230 pounds and with the last name Noel has the greatest nickname of Big Christmas) turned that hope into reality by belting a two-run game saving homer to left, tying the score at 5-5.

Then, in the bottom of the tenth, Cleveland, again with two outs and two strikes, got a game-winning two-run homer from David Fry to give the Guardians the most unlikely win in a game they absolutely had to win.

Now, it’s a series. Cleveland pulled out a miracle.
