Taken to the woodshed.
Read the riot act.
Raked over the coals.
Thrashed.
Torn a new one.
Had the sh** kicked out of them.
Whipped, trounced, mauled, whipped, drubbed, routed.
There are a lot of ways to describe how the Texas Rangers kicked off this most important west coast road trip.
Maybe the most apt is embarrassed.
The Texas Rangers lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 15-2. It wasn’t even that close.
Four batters into the Dodgers-half of the first inning, it was 3-0 and the game was over.
At least give the Rangers credit for consideration. They allowed their fans to turn off the game and go to sleep early. Really early. Early and often.
The seven-run sixth inning was the nail in the coffin. Not just of the game but of this iteration of the Rangers.
If there was any doubt this team doesn’t have the offense to compete (forget the fifteen runs and fourteen hits the pitching allowed, that was an aboration), last night’s game was it.
Yes, they are missing Corey Seager and Josh Jung. But they need more than that to be able to score enough runs to be competitive. Face it, this game wasn’t over when it got to 14-1, or when it was 7-1, or even 6-1.
This game was over when it was 3-0.
The rest was just embarrassing.
