Finally, after what seems like a month of downtime, Game 1 of the World Series is tonight.

This is the twelfth time these two teams have met in the World Series. The first seven matchups were when both teams were in New York, between 1941 and 1956. The Yankees won six of those seven. Since the Dodgers moved to LA, they have played the Yankees four times in the World Series, sweeping them in 1963, losing in 1977 and 1978, and winning in 1981.

So, enough with the endless babble. Enough with the overanalysis. Enough with the talking heads giving options. Let’s get it going.

My prediction (which means there is no way at all it will be close to coming true) is the Dodgers winning in seven games. Or the Yankees in five. Or…
