If ever the Rangers needed Adolis Garcia back, it’s for the next three games against the Astros.
Garcia seems to come alive against Houston. He destroyed them in the playoffs in 2023 and has continued to be a thorn in their paw.
It’s Adolis time again. The Rangers final twelve-game run starts with three in Houston. With the Rangers two games behind the second-place Astros for the third wild card slot, the Rangers absolutely must win two of the three. That would gain them one game. A sweep would leapfrog them over. Anything less would be critical to their playoff hopes.
Adolis came off the IL and into the Rangers lineup yesterday, going 0-4 in the Rangers 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets that snapped Texas’s six-game winning streak.
It might not be fair to pin the Rangers hopes on him, but this is his moment. The Rangers need him now. It’s do or die. Now or never. Time to pull out all the stops and all the cliches.
The Rangers offense put them in this hole, and Garcia’s struggles contributed. But all that can be forgiven and forgotten the next three games.
It’s Adolis time.
