Wyatt Langford might be the best thing to come out of this miserable season.
After going 3-for-4 last night, with two doubles, a home run, and two RBIs, Langford is hitting .345 in September, with a .424 on-base percentage and a whopping 1.097 OPS. That’s in elite territory.
Remember, he raked in June, but then slowed down in July and August. It looked like the league had figured him out, or that he had run out of gas.
But Langford has found another gear and is ending the season on the highest of high notes. His defense has been superb as well.
He forced his way into the lineup with an amazing spring in which he led all of baseball in home runs. twenty-two, and already Langford has proven he belongs in the Rangers lineup, then he struggled a bit coming out of the gate.
To see him rediscover his batting stroke is encouraging. Knowing he can play center is even better. The Rangers have a solution for Leody Taveras in-house.
Now all they need to do is figure out left, right, and DH.
