Let there be offense.

Last year, the Rangers showed that a team could win the World Series with only three hitters.

Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, and Marcus Semien carried the team offensively. Seager had an OPS of 1.137, with three home runs and six RBIs. Garcia had a 1.100 OPS with a whopping .500 on-base percentage. He hit one home run in the three games he played before he got hurt. Semien’s OPS for the five games was .917. He and Josh Jung tied for hits with seven.

All it takes is two or three hitters to carry a team through the World Series. Then, a shrinking here and there from the rest of the lineup.

The Dodger and Yankees have three studs each. Some could argue that Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman are as good as any top three hitters in baseball. But Soto, Judge, and Stanton are just as good. This should make for a great matchup.

Both teams have four threats if you add Teoscar Hernandez for the Dodgers and Anthony Rizzo for the Yankees.

Of course, having the pedigree and actually performing up to that are two different things. But there’s no denying opposing pitchers are going to agonize over pitching to these top three hitters. In both cases, it’s three consecutive hitters in the row. For the Dodgers, it’s their first three batters. For the Yankees, it’s two, three, and four.

But make no mistake, that’s a Murderer’s Row for each team.

Then, there’s always the unsung guys who step up when it matters most. Like Travis Jankowski did last season after Garcia went down. The Dodgers have Max Muncie and the always heroic KiKe Hernandez. And don’t forget Championship Series MVP Tommy Edman. The Yankees have a couple of those guys two in Gleyber Torres and Jazz Chisholm.

Viewers love offense. And this might just be a great World Series for that. The casual fan, or even the person just watching to watch, should enjoy this series because it’s most likely going to be offensively active.

And that’s what creates the ratings. Like it or not, Yankees Dodgers is good for baseball. It’s good to have the two largest markets tuned in and engages. And if this Series goes seven, it will be even better.
