This is how a bad team works.
The Rangers offense has been missing all year. They finally break out, scoring seven runs against the New York Yankees.
But the Yankees scored eight runs because the Rangers have had the worst pitching ERA since the All-Star break. Human decency prevents us from printing the numbers. After all, the State of Texas has banned all pornographic displays on the internet.
The Rangers came into New York needing to sweep after needing to sweep Houston in the series before. Like with the Houston series, Texas won just one of three.
They are now closer to fourth place than they are to second. In fact, they are closer to last place than they are to second.
Since the All-Star break, the Rangers have gone 9-13. Remember, four of those nine wins came against the White Sox, so in reality, the Rangers are 5-13, playing .277 baseball against major league teams.
For the record, .277 puts them slightly ahead of the White Sox’s .235 winning percentage.
Ooops, we weren’t supposed to display graphic images on the internet. Sorry, State of Texas.
