While the American League series has been wonderful baseball, the National League series has been void of drama.
Game 1, the Dodgers won 9-0, taking an early 6-0 lead that took away any question of who would win.
The Mets won Game 2 by the score of 7-3, erasing any doubt early with a five-run second.
The Dodgers shut out the Mets 8-0 in Game 3. No suspense there.
Game 4 was tied 1-1 after one inning. The Dodgers piled on runs and won 10-2.
Last night, the Mets jumped out to an early 10-2 lead and cruised to an easy and uneventful 12-6 win in Game 5.
Five games played, no game closer than a four-run victory. Not a single game had any drama in the ninth. No game-tying opportunities, unlike in the American League where every game has seen the potential tying run up at the plate all the way to the end.
The National League snoozefest heads back to Los Angeles, with the Dodgers leading three games to two. Game 6 is tomorrow.
Game 5, and the potential final game, of the American League series is today in Cleveland with the Yankees holding a commanding 3-1 edge.
If it’s anything like the last two, it will be a nailbiter. And, when you’re not a fan of either team, a great game is all you can hope for.
