Rangers sent to minor leagues.

Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park holds 14,014 fans.

Through twenty-two games, these 2025 Texas Rangers have shown one thing: they cannot hit in a major league ballpark.

Their offense was potent in spring, playing in those spring training complexes. Then, the regular season started, and this team has very little offense. Twenty-fifth out of thirty teams in batting average. Dead last in runs scored.

Well, now they move on to Sacramento to face the Athletics, who play in a minor-league stadium. It’s called Sutter Health Park, and for at least the next three seasons it’s where the Athletics will play. Sutter Health boasts a capacity of 14,014, and that’s if they pack the grass berms in the outfield. Fixed seating is 10,624. So far, the Athletics are drawing more fans per game in Sacramento than they were the last few years in Oakland.

Part of that can be the newness of the team in Sacramento. Part of that could be for the first time in years, Athletics ownership actually increased payroll in the offseason rather than dumping salaries. Part of it could be that Oakland fans were so disgusted with the Athletics owner, they gave up on the team.

Whatever the reason, the Rangers play their next three in a minor league park. It will be interesting to see if they can find offense there. Because they haven’t been able to find it anywhere else.

Through the first twenty-two games last season, the Rangers had three double-digit runs scored games. This season? Zero.

More pitiful, the Rangers have not scored more than six runs in any game, and that’s only three times.

The Rangers are hitting like minor leaguers. Maybe what they need is a minor league park to get their minor league bats going.
