The secret to beating the Rangers.

Without Corey Seager in the lineup, the offense has no chance.

Baseball teams are smart. They have scouts. They watch game film. If a rookie comes up and starts killing it, they eventually find his weakness.

So, it’s no surprise opposing teams have figured out how to beat the Rangers.

After considerable scouting, teams know that the secret to keeping the Rangers from scoring is this: put runners on base.

And in games where their lead is razor-thin and they want to shut down the Rangers totally: put runners in scoring position.

Then watch the bats flail. It’s a fool-proof strategy that relies on fools swinging at everything.

What the rest of baseball has figured out is the Rangers are a hapless team that is considerably more hapless without Corey Seager in the lineup. He is the Rangers threat, their only threat. He is all they have.

With Seager out of the lineup, .Josh Smith and Wyatt Langford can be pitched around and minimized. Just put them on base where they won’t do damage.

Nobody else is a threat.

Unfortunately, Seager in playing hurt, so his playing time will be limited. Which means, the Rangers chances of winning will be limited.

If Seager is not in the lineup, they will not win. Period. No chance. If he is in the lineup, they have a chance to win. Unless they are facing a left-handed starter, then they have no chance to win. Period.

Baseball has figured that out.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, so have their fans.
