The Texas Corey Seagers.

Corey Seager is the Rangers offense.

With yesterday’s 2-1 win over the White Sox, the Rangers swept Chicago for the year, winning all seven games.

They also eked out only two runs off a starter who came into the game with an 8.39 ERA. A guy who has started six games and was the losing pitcher in five of them.

He was perfect through three innings against the Rangers, once again evoking the question, how has this team not been no-hit at least three times this year?

The only offensive threat the Rangers have had in the second half of the season is Corey Seager, and he once again came through, with his thirtieth home run of the season, and two hundredth for his career, to make it 1-0. It took a Wyatt Langford ground out in the seventh to score the second run.

The Rangers squeaked by with a 2-1 victory. The win moved them to 17-21 for the second half, which is semi-respectable. But seven of those seventeen were against the White Sox. Against actual major league teams, they are 10-21.

At least they have Corey Seager. What they need next year is at least one more.
