Ugly numbers.

Jonah Heim connects for a 2-run homer in the 5th as the Rangers fall short in Tampa 5-4.

The Rangers are 6-24 when the opposition scores first, giving them an 80 percent chance of losing once the other team has scored.

The Rangers have scored the fewest runs of any team in the last three innings.

In the Rangers twenty-nine wins, once they are down after seven innings, they have come back to win a game only twice. And won a game they were tied after six innings only three times.

So, when Josh Lowe homered in the first, the game was probably lost. When Kumar Rocker gave up four runs in the third to put the Rangers down 5-0, the Rangers had no chance to win.

And when the Rangers went into the seventh down 5-3, they had very little odds of coming back. The numbers don’t lie.

Even though they scored four eventual runs, the odds were just too great for the second-worst hitting team in the major leagues, and the second worst road team in the major leagues, to overcome.

Just another loss from a team that doesn’t seem to have what it takes to consistently win.

They are now 0-2 on this nine-game road trip, with the prospects of winning looking slimmer and slimmer.

That’s because of one last stat: Corey Seager is 0-28 since rejoining the Rangers.

When the only hitter the Rangers can count on isn’t hitting, the Rangers aren’t winning. Their savior has lost his savior power. He is out of miracles. The Rangers are fresh out of hope.
