Yankees down, almost out.

Dodgers Freddie Freeman has driven in as many runs himself as the Yankees have scored as a team.

Down three games to none in a World Series is pretty much the death knell for the Yankees. In fact, in World Series history, no team has ever won more than one game when in this position. History says this Series might go five but it won’t go six.

Of course, the Yankees know all too well that only one team in the history of baseball has ever come back from being down 0-3. That was twenty years ago in the Championship Series. In 2004, New York was up 3-0 over Boston, and Boston chipped away and won it in seven.

So, it can be done. It has been done. But never in a World Series.

It’s a case of the Dodgers having too many weapons on offense and the Yankees big gun not firing.

Freddie Freeman hit his third home run in three games to put the Dodgers up early 2-0 and take the home crowd out of the game almost immediately.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge continued to struggle for New York. He went 0-for-3 with a walk. He’s now 1-for-12 with no RBIs, no runs scored, no offensive production whatsoever.

Compare that to Freeman, who’s 4-for-12, all extra-base hits—three home runs and a triple—driving in seven runs.

Seven runs, by the way, is how many the entire Yankees team has scored in three games.
