Top ten third basemen. 10 comments

This is where the Rangers used to be a lock. But with the retirement of Adrian Beltre, the Rangers have chosen to plug in a competent if not spectacular replacement in Asdrubal Cabrera, and have invited Matt Davidson to camp as well.

This is where Manny Machado would be but he has said he wants to play short, so he is on that list instead.

Number ten on the list is everybody’s consensus for Rookie of the Year and the next great young star in the game. He is the top prospect on every list.

Chapman is the best! Arenado is the best player to play the position, quite possibly the best player in the game. Him and Trout 1 and 1A

Ummmm … there’s a slight flaw in that logic Jake.

Translation…..Chapman is the best defensive 3B…..Arenado is one of the best players in the game…unless you are referring to something else

The discussion is “Top Ten Third Basemen”. Not best in hitting, not best in fielding, but best 10 all around Third Basemen. You state “Chapman is the best!”. But then say Arenado is the best player at 3B and perhaps best player in the game … except for Trout. If Chapman is the best at 3B as you said, that makes him better than Arenado. But you also think (rightly IMO) that Trout and Arenado are the best two players in the game. But that can’t be if Chapman is a better 3rd baseman than Arenado.

        Once again…..Defense

Once again … the category isn’t ‘defense’.

Guess I missed the rules again…my intent was to separate not confuse.

Hunter Pence is the mystery man this ST. Did the time in the DWL working on his swing pay off? It seems to have in the DWL, but that’s not the majors. Time will tell. If it did, it could result in some interesting decisions for the Rangers bench/of.
