Angel Hernandez historically awful.

Umpire Angel Hernandez has no concept of the strike zone, calling three pitches far out of the zone strikes on Wyatt Langford.

Welcome to the major leagues, Wyatt Langford. You will have the best facilities. You will have the best training. You will have the best accommodations.

You will have the worst umpire in the history of umpires—major league, minor league, college, high school, little league or pee wee league.

Angel Hernandez is a disgrace. He had disappeared from umpiring for a year, recuperating from back surgery. He was unable to recuperate from blindness and ignorance.

The Internet is filled with videos of horrible calls he has already made in 2024. And we are just three weeks into the season.

Fortunately, the Rangers won 12-8 and Angel Hernandez’s three horrible strike calls against Wyatt Langford didn’t derail the game. But the his last call of that sequence did make history, according to the Umpire Auditor site:

** NEW UMPIRE AUDITOR RECORD **

Umpire Angel Hernandez rang up Wyatt Langford on three consecutive pitches out of the zone.

The strikeout pitch missed outside by 6.78 inches.

This was the largest miss on a called strikeout in Umpire Auditor history.

Major League Baseball features the best players in the world. And the worst umpire. All that Rangers announcer Dave Valle could say was, “This is just bad.”
