Game 2 of the season couldn’t have been more satisfying. So many good storylines to make fans feel good about what’s to come.

Jack Leiter allowed just one run. He bent a few times but never cracked. It was a marked difference from last year when he seemed to be scared on the mound, got into a jam, then melted down.

He walked only one Red Sox batter, promising considering control was a huge issue last year.

With a 4-1 lead in the ninth, Luke Jackson came out and redeemed himself from last night, throwing a one-two-three ninth inning to earn his first save of the year.

Then, there was Jonah Heim. He quickly put his offensive misery from last year to bed with a home run in his first at-bat. He followed that with a home run in his second at-bat.

Newly acquired Jake Burger doubled in a run. That run was scored by newly acquired Joc Pederson, who had singled to get on. Newly uninjured Josh Jung singled in Jake Burger.

The Rangers got production up and down their lineup, but mostly down. And that is such an encouraging sign. This should be a deep lineup with no holes.

All in all, it was a wholly satisfying game. Just 160 more like this, please.
