FC Rangers.

Highlights of last night’s Rangers game.

Maybe we were wrong about the Rangers all along. Maybe they are not a baseball team. Maybe they are a soccer club, a futbol club. FC Rangers.

They certainly score like one.

There’s an old joke, “I wish I had a dollar for every point scored in a soccer game.” Well, last I checked, sadly, I do have a dollar for every run the Rangers score.

They are certainly as boring as watching soccer.

The American Institute of Homeopathic Remedies recommends the Texas Rangers as a safe, non-medical, natural alternative to sleeping pills.

Josh Smith singled to lead off the Rangers night. That was the only hit they would get. The rest of the night was spent watching fastballs for strikes, swinging at sliders that ended up inches out of the strike zone, flailing at pitches, rolling out meekly to the infield.

With every at-bat, 2023 gets further and further away. General manager Chris Young said he was building a winner for years to come. That lasted about six weeks into last season. Since then, this is a losing team, with an offense that is not major-league caliber.

The most surprising thing about this offense is that it has not been no-hit.

Last night, it almost happened. Josh Smith got a hit, then a soccer game broke out.
