Rangers slug their way to a split. 626 comments

For the first time this season, in Game 70, everyone in the Rangers lineup was over .200.  Joey Gallo, however, ended up going 0-for-4 to dip under later in the game.

A day after falling behind 6-0 early, the Rangers turned the tables on the Blue Jays and took an early 7-0 lead. Off Marcus Stroman. The Ranger killer in the playoffs.

But this isn’t the playoffs. The game didn’t count for much. So, Texas jumped all over Stroman. Early and often.

11-4.

The offense unloaded again. This time with eleven runs. The Rangers have scored five runs or more in six of their last seven games.  They’ve won four of those six. They’ve score ten or more in three of the last seven.

Texas hit four home runs. Carlos Gomez hit two. Robinson Chirinos hit one and came about two inches from another. And Mike Napoli launched one.

All in all, the Rangers split the four games with the Blue Jays to get back to .500 at 36-36, thirteen games under Houston, who just won its fiftieth game of the season.

Now the Rangers head out for ten games on the road against the Yankees, Indians and White Sox.

Changes are pretty good they will go 5-5.
