Dodgers continue to dominate.

Shohei Ohtani struck out nine in six innings, picking up the W in Game 1 of the Division Series.

Can anyone stop the Dodgers? Remember in the offseason when they bought every single free agent, some they didn’t even need? They just bought them so nobody else could.

They amassed this super team. They went out and started the season 8-0 and were never going to lose. There were going to be the first team to win 120 games in a regular season. They should have been given the World Series trophy in March.

Then injuries set in. And realities. And baseball. And for a brief while, the Padres jumped ahead of them in the playoffs. But you knew that wouldn’t last because Padres are always going to disappoint.

The Dodgers blew past the Reds in the first two Wild Card series games. Just the fact they were a wild card tells you their season wasn’t all about domination.

But it appears everyone is healthy at the right time again. Last night, after giving Philadelphia a three-run lead with the sure-to-be MVP Shohei Ohtani pitching, Los Angeles held tight and didn’t allow another run. And Teoscar Hernandez, who slumped badly in the last four months of the season, has come to life again. He homered twice against the Reds, driving in six of what seemed like a thousand runs, then last night hit a three-run blast to win it for L.A.

And, suddenly, the Dodgers look unbeatable again. And will be until somebody beats them.
