You could say the Rangers had it coming.

They failed to get the bat they need or the closer they need. Interestingly enough, and probably not surprising, both failures immediately came back to bite them.

The first game after their failure to improve the offense, they failed to score.

The second game after their failure to get a closer, they suffered a blown save. 

It could be just another ugly chapter in their recent history of playing in Seattle. Or, it could be their roster deficiencies are to blame. It’s probably a little bit of both. But until the Rangers prove they are good enough to beat Seattle, they aren’t good enough to beat Seattle.
