Seattle shuts down Toronto in Game 1.

Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh continues hitting home runs, this in the 6th to tie the game 1-1/

Seattle takes the first game.

After George Springer hit a home run to put the Blue Jays up 1-0 after one pitch, the Mariners pitching locked down the best hitting team in the major leagues.

Toronto managed just one more hit in the game, a single in the second. They never dented the plate after that.

Seattle tied it in the sixth with a home run from Cal Raleigh, who hit sixty of them during the regular season, so the Mariners are counting on more of that. They scored a second run in the sixth off a walk, wild pitch, and single. A single in the eighth after two walks scored their third run.

In the end, Toronto wasn’t able to put anything together. Now they have to regroup today and see if they can find that offense that carried them this far.

Seattle, on the other hand, is one win closer to a franchise-first World Series.

Game 2 is today.
