On Canadian Thanksgiving Day in Toronto, it was Seattle that did the carving.
The Mariners used the home run ball to crush the Blue Jays 10-3, stunning the crowd in Toronto who saw their beloved Jays drop the first two games in the best-of-seven series at home.
Seattle’s Julio Rodriguez hit a three-run homer in the first to put the Mariners up 3-0. But Toronto had the best offense in baseball in 2025, and they came back with two in the bottom of the first, then tied it in the bottom of the second. And it looked like they were going to make this a game.
That was until Jorge Polanco hit a three-run homer in the fifth, sending Toronto reeling. Mitch Garver tripled in the sixth and scored to make it 7-3. Josh Naylor (who the Rangers desperately need to sign in the offseason) hit a two-run homer in the seventh to make it 9-3, then for good measure, Seattle scored one more run in the seventh to make it 10-3.
Now, the only team to never make it to the World Series is halfway there. Up 2-0. Going back home to Seattle for the next three.
All that Toronto can do is hope their Thanksgiving wishes come true and they get back in the series.
