Sometimes you just run into somebody’s best game ever. CJ Cron was pretty much unstoppable. He drove in all five runs of the Angels’ runs.

Combine that with the Rangers leaving ten runners on base, and you get what we got. Beaten. 5-2.

Garret Richard came into last night’s game with a 6-0 record and an ERA of 1.67 in his career against the Rangers.

He’s now 7-0.

He wasn’t unbeatable last night. It’s just that the Rangers offense just couldn’t punch through when it needed to.

Two base runners in the first, one in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth, one in the eighth, two in the ninth. No runs.

The Rangers slip to three behind Houston in the West. The Angels snuck up to  just two and a half behind the Rangers for the wild card.

Time to hit the reset button. Forget about last night. Drive in some base runners tonight. Get back to the W column. And extinguish the Angels hopes of a wild card.

September baseball is more fun when you win.
