First round of re-assignments. 31 comments

In case you missed it yesterday, the Rangers made their first big round of roster moves, assigning fourteen players to their minor league camp.

The biggest name was Willie Calhoon, the man without a natural defensive position, who the Rangers acquired for Yu Darvish.

Others sent down were pitchers Austin Bibens-Dirkx, Paulo Espino, Reed Garrett, David Hurlbut, Connor Sadzeck, Adrian Sampson, and Tayler Scott. Infielders sent down were Hanser Alberto, Ronald Guzman, and Christian Lopes. Outfielder Scott Heimeman was sent to the minor leagues, as well as two catchers, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Jose Trevino.

The regular season starts two weeks from tomorrow.
