40-man: Sherten Apostel.

SHERTEN APOSTEL
Age: 21
Right-Handed Hitting Corner Infielder

Going into 2020, the report on Apostel was that he was still a few years away. He proved that in 2020.

Having never played above A-Level, Apostel was given the chance in the pandemically-challenged season to crack the desperate-for-offense big league roster this year.

Even though he got a hit in his first game, the twenty-one year old from Curacoa was overmatched. He got only two hits in the seven games he played. Apostel struck out nine times in 21 plate appearances and put up an almost impossible -20 OPS+. Remember, 100 is average. Apostel was 120 percent below league average offensively in 2020.

He needs more seasoning.

He is one player that is really hoping there will be minor league baseball in 2021. He needs to develop. There should be no reason to bring him up in 2021. But with the Rangers anemic offense, especially at first, the Rangers might be tempted to bring him up.
