Guys in Rangers uniforms play guys in Royals uniforms. Game 1 of the exhibition season is here. The dark cloud of winter is starting to dissipate. The even darker cloud of COVID is slowly breaking up. 

Today’s exhibition game opening day may feature players you’ve never heard of before and likely won’t hear of again but who cares? It’s baseball. And nothing makes life more worth living.

The Rangers will play 29 of these practice games in the next 32 days, gearing up for the season opener against these same Royals, in Kansas City, on April 1.

Normacy isn’t here yet. But this is the first step. And that’s something.
