According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, the Texas Rangers renewed the contracts of seventeen players yesterday, all who lack enough service time to negotiate any more than the major league minimum of $507,500 or the slightly higher salary of $525,000.

Grant also points out that, with these signings, the projected opening day payroll will be roughly $143 million, which is just three million more than the Rangers’ 2015 budget.
