More meh from the Rangers.

Ten days into 2026 and the Rangers are still trying to fill out a roster on the cheap.

They just picked up Zak Kent, a perfectly non-descript reliever they drafted back in 2019 then traded away. He was DFAed by Cleveland.

The twenty-seven-year-old righty has kicked around the minor leagues until getting into twelve games for the Guardians in 2025, pitching 17.2 innings with an ERA of 4.58.

This offseason of regression has continued for the Rangers who seem to be doing everything they can go put the championship of 2023 in the rear-view mirror.

Yes, they have gotten slightly better offensively, but as of now it appears they are going to go into the 2026 season on hope.

Hope is not a hopeful strategy.
