The freak winter storm that dumped snow and ice on the Metroplex and caused millions of Texans to lose power has damaged Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers new billion-dollar, publicly-riduculed ballpark.
Rangers officials have vowed their new home will be repaired in time for the start of the season. Opening day in Arlington is Monday, April 5.
“We will rebuild,” remarked Rangers president of baseball operations, Jon Daniels.
Daniels pointed out that the rebuilding he referred to was the ballpark and not the major league roster, which was has been damaged for quite some time and, experts predict, will take years to repair.
