Keep telling yourself it’s only spring training.

Because, the truth is, it’s only spring training.

Even so, we are seeing some ugly baseball played by the Rangers Jerseys. Cole Hamels got battered around, and didn’t even make it past the first inning. So that is two games in a row where Hamels has thrown batting practice.

One, yesterday, in a game that mattered not. The other, in October, against the Blue Jays, in a Game One that mattered a lot.

I won’t panic, because it doesn’t matter. And the worse this team does in the spring, the more confidence I have in them in the 162.

But Hamels has to be Hamels. Otherwise, this will be a lost season. Simple as that.
