Rangers most productive hitter.

Question: Over that last two seasons, who is the most productive hitter on the Rangers roster?

Answer: Someone who may totally surprise you.

Hint: He is one of the worst offensive performers by most statistical standards the past two seasons.

Rougned Odor.

Odor led the team in RBIs in 2019 with 93. He led the team in RBIs in 2020 with 30.

By comparison, Kiner-Falefa drove in 10. Gallo, 26. Solak, 23.

Of course, most of Odor’s RBIs came in the small windows where he was productive. In 2020, he drove in 20 runs in September. He was comatose before that. In 2019, he drove in 25 in July and 25 in September.

That’s his patter. Horrible April, horrible May, horrible June, wonderful July, horrible August, decent September.

His OPS+ in both of those seasons was an embarrassing 79 in 2019 and an even worse 64 in 2020. Even a new-age stat like WAR has Odor as one of the worst players in all of baseball over the past two seasons.

As bad as he is, and he is really bad, he’s the best the Rangers have.

And that, in a nutshell, will tell you how devoid of talent this team is.
