Great pitching wins championships.

The Rangers won the AL West with the worst ERA in the division and third worst in the league, better than only Boston and Detroit.

Texas pitching gave up the most runs, the most earned runs, and issued the most walks in the entire American League, and they were fourteen out of fifteen in strikeouts.

They were dead last in the AL West in quality starts, last in the AL West in batting average against (twelfth overall), and gave up the most total bases of any team in the AL West as well.

Only one American League pitching staff had a higher WHIP than Texas.

Texas was dead last in the AL in strikeout-to-walk ratio, second to last in strikeouts per nine innings, and threw the third most pitches per plate appearance in the American League.

Yet the Rangers won the AL West. With the third most wins in the American League.

Imagine what having Hamels, Darvish, and an actual bullpen for an entire season can do for this team.
