Slamtastic.

Kyle Schwarber connects for a grand slam to cap off a six run second inning in Boston’s 12-3 win.

The Astros have to feel about as shell shocked in this playoff series as the Rangers felt last year when they served up grand slam after grand slam after grand slam to the Padres. After that, the Padres were called Slam Diego.

There might not be an obvious cutesy-pie name that connects Boston and grand slam but the Red Sox don’t need a nickname. They are letting their bats do the talking.

As in Game 2, the Red Sox put Game 3 away early with the four-run shot. This grand slam was off the bat of Kyle Schwarber to cap a six-run second.

When it was all said and done, Boston won 12-3 in a game that was never in doubt.

The Mighty Astros have now lost two of the first three games in this best of seven. They need to find a way to stop the early Boston maulings.

Right now, the Red Sox are scoring early, often, and four at a time.
