Success.

This is home plate. A Rangers runner stepped on it yesterday.

The odds were pretty good it was going to happen in one of the innings in this three-game series.

It happened in the sixth. The Rangers scored their run.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa led off with a double. With one out, the Dodgers errored him over to third. Then, the Dodgers fielder’s choiced him home.

And, just like that, the Rangers had a run. Best thing is, they really didn’t have to do anything for it. The Dodgers did it all for them.

Now that the Rangers got their run in the first game, they head into today’s game hoping to score another run. Yes, that’s a bold presumption. But they are going up to the plate with a bat in their hands. They might as well try to see if they can put a ball into play. Do that a few times in one inning, and they will score another run.

Who knows? Maybe they can error and groundout themselves into another run today.

One can dream.
