THINGS I GOT RIGHT:

A.J. Griffin would be the steal of the off-season.

A. J. Griffin will be the number-three starter on the team.

The Ian Desmond signing was really smart.

No matter who the Rangers got for Leonys Martin, the Rangers got the better end of the deal. Tom Wilhelmsen has an ERA of 12.86. I was right.

The Justin Ruggiano signing was a waste of money.

Even though the Rangers bullpen was predicted to be the best in baseball, bullpens from year to year are about as predictable as a single isolated atom of radium-226. *

THINGS I GOT WRONG:

The Houston Astros would give the Rangers a run for their money. Then I read where the Astros are an under .500 team since May of 2015. They need two quality starters. And by quality I don’t mean Scott Feldman.

The Yankees will finish in the top two in the East. Then I saw them play.

That you should try the Chicken N Donuts at the Ballpark. Then I had it a second time.

That the Rangers would miss Mike Maddux.

THINGS THAT ARE OBVIOUS:

Nomar Mazara is the best player on the Rangers.

Nomar Mazara is the best player Jon Daniels has ever drafted. The bar, however, is very low.

Adrian Beltre will be Hall of Famer, and could probably play at a Hall of Fame level for three or four more seasons. Then he could go about three or four more at a mere mortal level.

Cole Hamels is an ace.

Martin Perez’s reputation is actually better than his career numbers.

For a team to do something special, certain players need to have career years. Elvis Andrus is having a career year so far.

THINGS I STILL FEEL WILL HAPPEN:

The Rangers will win the West.

The Rangers will make a major trade and will make it to the Championship Series.

Prince Fielder will hit thirty or more home runs.

Mitch Moreland will not finish the season as a Ranger.

Nomar Mazara will win Rookie of the Year.

Yu Darvish will lose at least three 1-0 games.

Tanner Scheppers will blow Game 7 of the World Series.
