After pinch-hitting for strike-out prone Joey Gallo, Mitch Moreland stayed in the game and delivered the key blow in the top of the tenth inning.

Mitch Moreland got only two at-bats in last night’s game against the Padres, but he needed only one to be last night’s hero.

With Elvis Andrus on first in a 3-3 tie in the top of the tenth, Mitch Moreland shot a double down the right field line to score the go-ahead run, giving the Rangers a series win, and, more importantly, moving them to within two games of Houston, who lost in Seattle.

Off day today. Time to recharge before heading into Anaheim. With a little luck, the Rangers could come out of that series in first place in the West.
