Two Ls.

You win some. You lose some. And sometimes you lose them both.

Good thing it’s spring.

The Rangers had a split squad doubleheader yesterday. They lost 5-4 against Arizona, and 5-1 against Milwaukee.

Wyatt Langford went 2-for-3. The kid just keeps hitting. Matt Duffy went 1-for-3 to put his average for the spring at .300. Is that enough to land him a roster spot? Justin Foscue has cooled off, going 0-for-4 and dropping to .250. And Davis Wendzel went 2-for-3 to raise his spring average to .364. He’s a twenty-six-year-old who’s spent four unremarkable years in the Ranger system.

Spring training is always full of stories, but for most prospects those end up back in the minor leagues. With three-fourths of the Rangers infield injured and unsure of being ready by opening day, which is eleven days away, some of these guys might get a shot they otherwise wouldn’t.
