Night baseball.

Brew up a pot of coffee. The first night game of the exhibition season is tonight. And, since time changed in the central time zone but not in the Phoenix area, tonight’s game will start at 9:10. But a comfortable 7:10 locally.

The Rangers have reached the halfway point in their yearly stay in Surprise. Fourteen games down, thirteen to go. Then two dress rehearsals in The Shed, then the season starts in Kansas City for real.

The games will start taking on a sense of urgency as competition ramps up. Which is good because spring training is about two weeks too long. It’s like having to smell the turkey all day cooking on Thanksgiving. Enough already, just pull the darn thing out and carve it.

Come on, April 1. Come on. Let’s get this season carved.
