                         Yay. This is the greatest team ever.

Then they lose five in a row.

                         Boo. This team is horrible.

They win three in a row.

                         Yay. See? I told you. This is the greatest team ever. 

Then they lost two out of three, including 22-10.

                         Boo. This team is horrible. Tear it apart and start over.

They win 8-2.

                         Yay, this team is great. We can go all the way.

But they don’t gain any ground in the wild card race.

                         Boo. What’s the point?
