It’s easy to forget this is a team that’s 15 games under .500. When they play other bad teams like the Angels, you think the Rangers are amazing. Then they play a good team and reality sets in.
Texas has a long way to go to be good. They have a long way to go to get to the level of the elite teams in the league and the division.
But whether they are good or not so good, the Rangers cannot figure out a way to contain Khris Davis. He owns the Rangers. He has 26 career home runs and 59 career RBIs against Texas, more than against any other team, in just 51 games. It seems he hits a home run every time he comes to bat against the Rangers but the reality is he hits one every other game statistically.
The Athletics are on a roll. They seem to be unstoppable. It wasn’t long ago when the Rangers were that team. Just two years ago they had the best record in the American League.
Seems like a long long ago time for some reason.
Being 15 games under .500 adds years to your year.
