Former GM Jim Bowden is a contributor to The Athletic. He released his off-season report card grading the moves of A.L. West teams.

Seattle got a B.
Houston got a B-.
Oakland got a B-.
Los Angeles got a C+
Texas got a C.

The one player he noted to watch out for is Brock Burke, the left-handed pitcher the Rangers got in the Jurickson Profar trade. “Burke has a chance to be their best acquisition,” Bowden noted.

While Texas plugged every hole they set out to fill, overall he seems to be less than enthused with the talent the Rangers filled the holes with.

While a C might not seem like much of a grade, if at the end of the season we can grade the Rangers year with a C, that would be truly remarkable.
